An exciting opportunity exists to work as a bioinformatician within the Genome Centre at Barts and the London Medical School. The centre is a growing organization providing genetics and genomics technologies (focusing on next generation sequencing and micro array) to a variety of academic researchers within the school and the wider London academic community. An exciting dual role to offer systems administration and analysis to a community of world class scientist; The post will underpin a mixed infrastructure of SUN and HP instruments running Linux and will work closely with academics both in design and analysis of experiments utilizing these cutting edge technologies.
This demanding role requires an applicant with a broad portfolio of skills including a extensive genetics/genomics knowledge, programming, databasing and system administration. The successful applicant should have a degree in a relevant discipline.
The post is full-time and fixed-term for 3 years. The starting immediately or as soon as possible thereafter. Starting salary will be in the range £30,350 – £36,658 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, final salary pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
