Duties and Responsibilities
The Medical Genomics Group headed by Professor Stephan Beck is seeking a Research Associate – Bioinformatician. Using experimental and computational approaches, the group has a broad interest in the genomics of phenotypic plasticity in health and disease.
The appointee will be responsible for the tracking, processing, analysis and storage of array and next-generation sequencing based data and contribute to the development of computational meta-analysis pipelines.
In collaboration with Dr. Daniel Pearce (UCL Institute of Healthy Ageing), the post is initially funded for 2-years by the EU-FP7 Network of Excellence on Integrated Research of Developmental Determinants of Ageing and Longevity (IDEAL).
The successful candidate will have a biology or computer science based degree, and must have or be in the process of submitting a PhD and will possess significant experience in applied bioinformatics. You will be responsible for the tracking; processing, analysis and storage of array and next-generation sequencing based data. Experience with the analysis of genomics data (ideally with array and next generation sequencing data) and experience in common bioinformatics packages such as Bioconductor and Bioperl. Also needs pro
